'Mr. Pregnant', bankrolled by Mic Movies, is directed by Srinivas Vinjanampati. Sohel Ryan and Roopa Kodavayur play a married couple in the film, whose trailer is out. The film's trailer was unveiled on Saturday at an event in Hyderabad. Speaking on the occasion, producer Ravireddy Sajjala thanked Akkineni Nagarjuna for gracing the occasion as the chief guest. He praised the 'Manmadhudu' actor for always encouraging maverick talents like RGV.
Producer Venkat Annapareddy said that 'Mr. Pregnant' boasts a novel concept. Producer Appireddy spoke of his wife's ordeals when she was pregnant. He spoke highly of the women who go through a lot of struggles during their pregnancy. Male pregnancy, which is a contradiction in terms, is at the centre of 'Mr. Pregnant'. The narration left the producer bamboozled and shocked. "Our film highlights the best of women. I implore the female audience to support our movie's sentiments and emotions," he added.
Producer Bekkem Venugopal said that he has been engaged with the project right from the scripting stage. He lauded Mic Movies for bringing out movies like 'George Reddy'.
Director Srinivas Vinjanampati described his product as an experiment. "While many producers I met were not ready to back the film, Mic Movies came forward to support it. This is the story of a father who takes on his mother's labour to deliver a child," he added.
Actress Roopa Kodavayur said that 'Mr. Pregnant' is a beautifully shot movie. She added that Mic Movies feels like a home banner.
Actor Syed Sohel Ryan of Bigg Boss Telugu fame talked a bit about his bond with Nag. "We hear how hard it is for a mother to bear a child for nine months. But I am going to show that difficulty through my character as a male person," he added.
Nagarjuna described Sohel as a passionate actor. He endorsed the film's trailer and added that the film has chosen to tell a "difficult subject". He briefly touched upon the phase in his life when Amala was bearing Akhil. "At that time, I was at home for six months and didn't do any shoots. That was the best phase of my life," he added.
