The glimpse of 'Ugly Story', starring Nandu and Avika Gor in the lead, conveys the ugly truth that the chasm between reality and imagination is wide. "There is love in my imagination. In real life, there is none. This is the reality of so many out there," says a brooding, violent young male played by Nandu in the short glimpse. Produced by Lucky Media and Riyaziya Productions, the film seems to be a psychological romantic thriller with a twist or two.
Helmed by Pranava Swaroop, the glimpse shows the visuals of an old-fashioned, dreamy couple (in monochrome) savoring the rain. Suddenly, a pistol-wielding young male comes out of the blue and shoots them. The one committing the cold-blooded murder is none other than the male partner of the woman seen in the first set of visuals.
Speaking about the movie, the makers said, "Towards the fag end of the teaser, Nandu's dialogue about the contrast between reality and illusion is profound. You can expect many more such one-liners in our movie, which is in the post-production phase currently. We are planning to release the teaser and trailer in early 2024."
Co-starring Ravi Teja Mahadasyam, Shivaji Raja and Pragya Nayan, the thriller has been bankrolled by Bekkem Venugopal, Ch. Subhashini, and Konda Laxman. Shravan Bharadwaj (music), Vithal Kosanam (art), Eshwar Penti (choreography), Natraj (stunts), and Shrie Saikumaar Daara (cinematography) have worked on the movie.
