The buzz on social media is that the Congress party is consciously taking aggressive positions against Allu Arjun for whatever reason.
Speaking at a media conclave on Friday, hours after Allu Arjun's arrest, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that his government can't be seen to be favouring the actor just because he is a celebrity. He reminded the host of the conclave that Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan were arrested in the past. But Dutt and Khan were arrested in serious cases after due diligence. Dutt was arrested because he himself confessed to harbouring dangerous weapons. Salman Khan's arrest, too, happened because he was directly involved in a crime. Bunny was arrested despite no direct involvement in the accidental death of a woman in a stampede. The interim bail to him by the High Court goes to show that the police might have been wrong.
Teenmar Mallanna, the Congress MLC, wants Allu Arjun's National Award to be withdrawn. Today, he accused Bunny of getting dance choreographer Jani Master's National Award called off recently. There is no evidence for this and it is just a nonsensical accusation against the 'Pushpa 2' actor. "Allu Arjun conspired to get Jani Master arrested because he wanted the National Award win to be an exclusive victory," Mallanna stated.
