Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has been the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand before. He has also served as the Education Minister of India. His daughter, Arushi Nishank, has been an actor and a producer.
As per Arushi she has been defrauded of a sum of Rs 4 Cr by two producers from Mumbai. These producers approached her in the last quarter of 2024 with a film offer. They allegedly told her she will be cast as the heroine in a Hindi film they were going to make. They sought an initial investment of Rs 2 Cr, followed by another Rs 2 Cr.
After Arushi paid the huge sum, she was unceremoniously sacked from the film's casting. Moreover, the producers allegedly refused to return the money to her. Instead, they allegedly threatened her with defamation suits if she went public with her allegations.
The producer couple, Mansi and Varun Bagla, have been accused by Arushi of fraud and threats. They are yet to respond to her allegations. The Dehradun police have lodged a police complaint.
