India's Got Latent: Comedy show commits suicide fearing police cases

India's Got Latent, the now-controversial comedy show series, is no more. Samay Raina, one of the creators of the show, has announced that all its episodes have been taken down from YouTube following police cases being filed against him and BeerBiceps. The latter recently made incestuous comments on the show.

"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly," Samay Raina said.

The deletion came after reports stated that the Maharashtra police had started scanning all episodes to find objectionable content. Apparently, in previous episodes, participants made fun of depressed patients and even rape victims. Many Netizens reminded Samay Raina that the show sexualizes everything, including a festival like Raksha Bandhan.

"The platform they have created is highly insulting, relying on obscenity. While there is a place for edgy comedy, this show crosses a line by spreading vulgarity, obscenity, and nudity. Samay is positioning himself as a champion of free speech in India, but it seems he is only promoting inappropriate content for monetary gain. Media reports suggest he earns over Rs 1 crore per month through memberships. Rather than taking accountability, he continues to defend his actions, without offering a public apology," wrote Aman Agrawal.
