Samantha is one heroine who mesmerized the entire Andhra Pradesh audience with the girl next door character (Jessie) that she portrayed in ‘Ye Maya Chesave’. Her following film ‘Brindavanam’ was also the box office success and brought her some good offers like Sreenu Vaitla-Mahesh Babu’s ‘Dhookudu’, SS Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’, etc. But unfortunately this actress is unable to see the lime light in her own state, i.e., Tamil Nadu. Even though she started her film career with a Tamil film ‘Pokkada Ravi’, that film got shelved in the middle of the making. The following film ‘Maskovin Kaveri’ failed to impress the audience while her third film ‘Baana Kathadi’ was quite okay.
Samantha is very desperate for a success in Tamil. Hence she is now heavily banking on Gautham Menon who introduced her to the Telugu audience. Gautham Menon is planning to direct a film in which Samantha will play the title role and Jeeva as protagonist.
