King Nagarjuna and Anushka’s recent release ‘Dhamarukam’ which was directed by Srinivasa Reddy under the banner R R Movie Makers with music by Devisri Prasad has entered the 3rd week of its release successfully. On this occasion Anushka organised a press meet at Annapurna Seven Acres in Hyderabad and shared her happiness. Here are few excerpts:
“Our film industry rarely sees socio-fantasy films as there are very few makers who can attempt such films. It’s a great experience to act in a film that’s based on our childhood stories and comics. ‘Dhamarukam’ has given me exactly that kind of feeling. Every scene including the graphics snakes in the head of Andakasurudu, the way Mantrik takes away kanyaka, Nandi’s appearance and many more miracles have been shown in this film by director Srinivasa Reddy. This movie indicates the talent of the director with so many wonderful scenes.” Speaking further she said, “My role in this film got good response. My introduction part, scenes involving me and mantrik, climax scene and several other scenes have attracted the audience. There is no significance between Arundathi role and the role in this film. This is an entirely different role. Bommali Ravi Shankar, who appeared in this film as mantrikudu is a very jovial personality. Snakes being the graphics design, I used to visualize them on the mantrik’s head and perform the scene. I’ve learnt a lot by working for a film like ‘Dhamarukam’. So far I’ve worked with Nag in several films right from ‘Super’. He is a very comfortable costar. He will ensure that he corrects the mistake if I commit any.”
About her forthcoming projects she said, “My next film ‘Rudramadevi’ under Gunasekhar’s direction will go on the sets soon. The pre-production work will start in February. Lot of research is going on presently for the 3D format. On the other hand, all my Tamil films have lined up for release. This apart, I need to adjust my call sheets for my future projects as there are 2-3 more films which are under discussion. But right now I’m shooting for ‘Mirchi’ opposite Prabhas.” When asked who’s hot in ‘Mirchi’, she instantly replied “Prabhas”.
