This December 16, James Cameron's ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is heading to theatres. Billed as a magnum opus, its trailer was released recently. Early advance bookings show 'Avatar 2' will be a smash hit in India
‘Avatar 2‘ is pulling off a roaring feat. It's learned that the epic science fiction film has registered a sale of 15,000 tickets within 3 days of advance openings in premium formats.
This figure is no mean feat, considering that the bookings have been opened only on 45 screens just the other day. As days pass, the James Cameron directorial is going to put up even bigger numbers. "These are highly encouraging signs. Exhibitors are in for a windfall," a film observer says.
The CEO of PVR Pictures has been quoted as saying that the "massive response" will be seen even in the non-premium formats, where the advance bookings open on Saturday.
The Chief Programming Officer at INOX Leisure Limited stated that all premium format shows across most of the INOX properties in India have already been sold out. The CEO of Cinepolis, too, is predicting a blockbuster. "Within just a day, we have garnered phenomenal response to the film across the country. Do watch the film at Cinépolis Real D 3D, which is the world's best 3D technology," he added.
