'Jailer' was released in theatres on August 10. It has so far grossed more than Rs 600 Cr (worldwide), while the Telugu version is estimated to have grossed anywhere between Rs 85 to 90 Cr.
In a scene in the Rajinikanth-starrer, a negative character who hurls derogatory remarks about women is seen wearing the jersey of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This offended the Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited, which filed a suit against the movie with the Delhi High Court.
On Monday, the HC asked Sun Pictures to ensure that the jersey is blurred or something is done to ensure that it is not clearly seen. The makers of the blockbuster are expected to do it by September 1. The versions that is going to be screened in theatres, played on TV and streamed on OTT are not supposed to feature the jersey legibly.
'Jailer', co-starring Vinayakam, Ramya Krishnan and others, features Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal in guest roles.
