In the late 1990s, Pawan Kalyan was rigorously trained in martial arts by an exponent named Shihan Hussaini, who yesterday succumbed to cancer. In a statement, the actor-politician condoled his guru's demise, saying that he got to know about Shihan's health crisis only four days back.

"I had inquired about his condition through my friends in Chennai and even expressed my willingness to make arrangements for advanced medical treatment abroad if needed. I had also planned to visit Chennai on March 29th to meet and check on him," the Deputy CM of AP said.

The OG actor recalled that Hussaini taught karate with strict discipline and rigorous rules. "I always followed his instructions with complete dedication. Initially, he was reluctant to train me, but after much persuasion, he finally agreed. I used to reach his training center early in the morning and stay until evening, undergoing intense training to earn my black belt in karate. My training experience under him proved invaluable while preparing for Thammudu. Under Hussaini Sir’s guidance, nearly 3,000 students achieved black belt status. He also played a significant role in promoting archery in Tamil Nadu and held key positions in the state's Archery Association, working tirelessly to popularize the sport," Pawan Kalyan wrote in his condolence message.

"Being a multi-talented personality, he was passionate about bringing martial arts closer to the younger generation," he further added.

Pawan Kalyan awaits the theatrical release of Hari Hara Veera Mallu on May 9th.
