Manchu Manoj and his wife, Bhuma Mounika, will be joining the Jana Sena Party on Monday. They are currently in Allagadda in Rayalaseema.
While Manoj has maintained political neutrality over the years, his admiration for Pawan Kalyan was known.
In 2017, at a film event, he spoke of thinking of quitting acting once and for all. At the time of the release of 'Okkadu Migiladu', Manoj said that he had been thinking about the oppressed weak. He added that the hardships of the weak are everywhere. "I wanted to leave films, join the people and question the wrong-doers," he said.
Had his personal life been on the right track (he divorced his first wife after years of domestic friction), he would probably have entered politics long back. After marrying Mounika (whose parents, Bhuma Nagi Reddy and Bhuma Shoba Nagireddy, were popular politicians in Kurnool district), Manoj's political dreams probably received a boost.
Manoj is currently doing 'Mirai' and 'Bhairavam'. His feud with his father, Mohan Babu, has been intense.
