'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama', the acclaimed Japanese anime film, is up for an Indian release on October 18. This is not a fresh movie but was made in 1993. At that time, the Ramayana-based movie didn't have an Indian theatrical release. About 31 years since it was made in Japan, the film is finally getting an Indian release.

Acclaimed screenwriter V Vijayendra Prasad has contributed to the Indian release as a "creative director". Reportedly, he worked on the Indian translations. The film will be released in Telugu and Hindi majorly. Some screens will also show the Tamil and English versions.

Produced and directed by Yugo Sako, this anime version was the inspiration behind Prabhas' 'Adipurush'. Director Om Raut himself had said it much before the movie's release. The anime version, although critically acclaimed, is considered boring. So, it has to be seen whether the Indian audience will accept 'Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama'.
