Maha Kumbh Mela schedule: Efforts on to enlist Balakrishna for Akhanda 2 shoot

Akhanda 2, slated to be released in theaters on September 25 this year, was shot in Pragyagraj for five days. Starting January 11, its schedule didn't involve Nandamuri Balakrishna. Director Boyapati Sreenu has stated that he filmed some portions involving the Maha Kumbh Mela crowds, who were not aware of the shoot.

Balakrishna might join the unit later this month or in February. 14 Reels Plus, the production house, has secured all required permissions from the UP and Union governments to shoot the film in specific locations till February 26. If the Daaku Maharaaj actor's presence doesn't result in chaos or hassles, he will be there in Prayagraj to shoot for a scene or two.

Netizens are excited to see how these shots would have turned out. The ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela is witnessing lakhs of crowds on the streets. Shots capturing these crowds would make for a good onscreen experience provided the director dramatizes those shots. "Our 20-member unit is capturing breathtaking visuals of Aghoras and Naga Sadhus and the sequences of crores of devotees taking holy dip," producer Ram Achanta has been quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle. Visuals will include the Amrit Snan ritual as well. Akhanda 2 is one of the biggest films in the making.
