'Demonte Colony 2' was released in theatres last week. Producer Suresh Reddy's release strategy and the backing by Mythri Movie Makers have ensured that the supernatural horror thriller reached its target audience in the Telugu States. On the back of its strong content, the film is as much a hit in Telugu as it is in Tamil.
In a chit-chat with the Telugu media on Sunday, actor Arulnithi thanked the audience for embracing the well-made sequel co-starring Priya Bhavani Shankar and others. For the unversed, Arulnithi belongs to the Karunanidhi family. Current Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin is his uncle, while Udayanidhi Stalin (actor and Minister) is his cousin. "Stalin saw 'Demonte Colony 2' a month ago and praised its quality," Arulnithi says.
"Our producer's faith in the subject has paid off. We are planning a success meet in Hyderabad soon," the actor adds. He also mentions the success of the Telugu version of Vikram's 'Thangalaan'.
The film features Arulnithi in two roles. "Srini's character is from the first part. Raghu, a rich brat, is a new character. His nature and traits make him a polar opposite of Srini. It was challenging to essay the two parts," the actor says.
He further says that 'Demonte Colony 2', directed by R Ajay Gnanamuthu, is a perfect sequel. "We are excited to announce 'Demonte Colony 3' and 'Demonte Colony 4'. The third edition will be a significant installment in the franchise. It will come with compelling twists and new characters," Arulnithi adds. "I approach my work without fear and aim to continue to give my best," he says.
Sam CS's background music has been praised by the audience. "The re-recording has made our movie even more impactful," the actor says.
Arulnithi is open to debuting in Telugu if and when the right script comes his way.
